This week my husband and I have renovations starting on our house. Check out the crazy pic I took in my basement earlier this week! We’ve been living here for almost 16 years. Our kids are all grown and out of the house. And now we want the house of our dreams . . . so we decided to use this summer as a time to renovate so that we can get what we want.

Renovating is messy. It’s loud. It’s inconvenient. But it offers an amazing opportunity to completely reimagine what could be and what should be. So I’m using the momentum being generating from our home renovation, to renovate some areas of my life that need a makeover.

The first place I am starting is in the area of my purpose and profession. In fact, I’ve slated the next four days as a time to retreat and reimagine what empowering women’s lives could look like for me for the remainder of this year and into the next.

So for you, what would your career, or business, or professional life look like if you renovated it…demolished what’s currently in place and began reimaging what your job could look like, or should look like? Would you go back to school? Would you get more diligent in showing up and being present everyday at work? Would you start a business or expand your brand?

The sky’s the limit and the possibilities are endless when you gut what is so that you can reimagine what could be! Begin this renovation, life makeover with me this summer and let’s plan together what our lives will look like when the summer’s over. Below I have some questions for you to ponder. Write them down in your personal journal and begin designing what your next level professional life will look like by the end of the summer.

Journal Questions

  • If you had no obstacle what career/profession/job would you do all day, everyday?
  • Why that choice?
  • What can you do right now to move in the direction of that profession?
